The following pictures were taken in Peru in April, 2000 where Raintree is working with highland farmers in sustainably growing Jergon Sacha. Since the root is harvested and used medicinally, it cannot be sustainably wildharvested in the rainforest. For that reason, Raintree was unwilling to create a market for this natural remedy until a sustainable supply was available.
